English Department

The English department aims to inspire students to become outstanding communicators when delivering a presentation or completing a piece of extended writing. We also want to give students the confidence to read exciting and engaging works of fiction and non-fiction that include challenging vocabulary and ideas.

There are lots of opportunities to take part in writing and speaking competitions for those interested in developing their literary talents further. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the paired reading initiative where they are mentored by an older student.

The department also provide a a range of intervention strategies  and opportunities for students to ensure that they realise their potential and achieve their goals in life.
